SERVICES

INSTALLATION

STEP 1

SITE VISIT

We will come to your home/property and obtain the necessary information to provide you with a accurate, free estimate. Things that will be considered when designing your irrigation system, among others, are plant type, exposure, slope, water source (volume/pressure), and WIND!

If you allow us to install your irrigation system, we will schedule it as soon as possible while working with your timeline. We DO NOT require a deposit.

STEP 2

PLUMBING

Once you have booked with us, we will arrange a plumber to install a dedicated water line for irrigation if necessary. Since most residential irrigation systems use the municipal potable water supply, a proper, approved backflow prevention device must be installed on the irrigation line. This will stop any contaminated water from the irrigation system getting into the municipal water supply and tainting it, thereby keeping you and your neighbors safe!

INSTALL

STEP 3

Once any utility conflicts have been located, it’s time to install! Most residential installs take 1-2 days depending on the size and site conditions. We install most of our pipe using a vibratory plow, so even with an existing lawn, you hardly notice anything has been done, even the same day! Minimal disturbance to you landscape.

We design and install our systems with efficiency in mind. A well designed irrigation system, properly installed with cutting edge water saving devices will not only help create and maintain a beautiful landscape, but will save you money over time. We do not believe in compromising on quality!

STEP 4

TEST/ORIENTATION

Once the installation is complete, system flushed, tested and working perfectly, we’ll turn it over to you! We’ll walk through everything with you including getting you familiar with your weather based, WiFi enabled irrigation controller. Once you’re happy, we will invoice you for the completed work and you can choose how you would like to pay - VISA, MC, e-transfer, cash, check.

WARRANTY/MAINTENANCE

STEP 5

 You shouldn’t have to worry about your investment, so we offer a 3 year, full warranty. To be applicable, all we require is that you have Lethbridge Sprinkler perform a Spring Activation service and Fall Blowout service during that 3 year period. The first year’s Fall Blowout is on us! At the end of the 3 years, if you’re happy with us you can choose to extend the warranty period for an additional 2 years.

In addition to ensuring your system is protected for winter, and set up perfectly for summer, our Hydrawise WiFi controllers with notify us if they should malfunction or go offline. This allows us to be very proactive and fix issues, often before you even know anything was wrong!

SPRING ACTIVATIONS

Ensure everything is ready and working with a Spring Activation.  With this service, we will:

    -    Check the point of connection and manifold for leaks;

    -    Check each zone/sprinkler for proper function, including leaks, coverage, uniformity and adjust as required;

    -    Ensure the controller is programmed properly to maximize efficiency; and

    -    Make sure that valves are functioning manually, as well as from the controller

This is a great opportunity to address any concerns you may have about your existing irrigation system, and discuss options for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of it.

CROSS CONNECTION/ BACKFLOW PROTECTION

Typically, water for you irrigation system comes from your domestic potable water supply, unless you happen to have a separate, dedicated water source for irrigation. When a water line that is to be used for underground sprinklers is attached to a potable water supply, you have what is called a cross connection. This means that unless properly protected, potentially contaminated water from your irrigation system could backflow into your potable water supply, endangering your household and, if connected to the municipal water supply, endangering the community. But what is backflow?

Simply put, backflow is when water flows in the opposite direction that it is supposed to. There are two main causes: back pressure and back siphonage. Water in you irrigation system is susceptible to all sorts of contaminants which could be hazardous if that water ever back flowed into your potable water. This could happen in the event of a water main break or even in the event of a fire, where large amounts of water are being used very quickly to extinguish it.

In order to protect the municipal water supply, a proper backflow prevention device on a cross connection is critical. Not having this is not only unsafe, but in many municipalities (soon to include Lethbridge), it is a bylaw offence. Please feel free to contact Lethbridge Sprinkler if you have questions about cross connections or backflow prevention.
